PyroDry 1500

As part of a research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the construction of a PyroDry®1500 plant at the wastewater treatment plant in Bleicherode will begin in July 2023. The project is led by the University of Nordhausen, where previous planting experiments with sewage sludge biochar have shown very positive results for the reclamation of the local potash heaps. Over the next 3 years, the research facility from Jumbo Group aims to demonstrate the effectiveness in a real field trial. The sewage sludge biochar will be mixed in a 30/70 ratio with compost and applied to the barren slopes of the potash heaps. The compost mixture, named CarboMass, is intended to enable reclamation.
